On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, a team of 12 volunteers from Healy Insurance and Financial Group in South Bend rolled up their sleeves and spent the day building walls at the Habitat for Humanity location in St. Joseph County. These walls, carefully measured, cut, and assembled, will soon become part of homes for local families in need.
The atmosphere was full of teamwork, laughter, and purpose as Healy employees put their hands and hearts to work, driven by their company motto: Do the Right Thing: Have a Servant’s Heart. For Healy, this wasn’t just a day away from the office—it was a chance to live out their values in a tangible way, helping create safe, affordable housing right in their community.
As hammers struck nails and wood frames took shape, volunteers reflected on the fact that each wall would one day surround a family’s memories, laughter, and future dreams. The day ended with tired muscles but full hearts, knowing their work would soon give families a stronger foundation, both literally and figuratively. It was more than construction—it was a shared commitment to building a better tomorrow, one wall, one home, and one act of service at a time.
