Our moderator, John Kuehn, Southbank Legal: LaDue | Curran | Kuehn, will facilitate the discussion on topics such as:

  • Legal issues for employers regarding drugs in the workplace, especially in light of legislation at the federal and state levels related to cannabis possession and use.
  • Community resources to help individuals who have struggled with substance abuse succeed as productive employees and members of the community.
  • Solutions for employers and workers facing the challenge of substance abuse by company employees.

Meet the panel:

Alicia Brown, the president of Fresh Attitudes for New Success, who also served a prison sentence for issues stemming from repeated drug convictions.

LouAnn Dobbins, coordinator of the employee assistance business development at New Avenues. LouAnn works with human resource professionals and business managers in setting-up and servicing their organizations with customized employee assistance programs.

Gregory Pouliot, PhD, HSPP, director of behavioral health Beacon Health System, will share his expertise about treating patients with substance abuse issues and supporting their recovery.

Mike Thibideau, Director of Indiana Workforce Recovery, a state-wide initiative in partnership with the governor to combat the opioid epidemic. The initiative guides employers through a recovery oriented approach to prevention, assistance and retention.
